1143 - ORIGINAL ANTIQUE CONFEDERATE RICHMOND MUSKET.
This gun is in the black, out-of-the-woods and it certainly looks that way. This is actually a pretty good gun that needs some TLC. If cleaned gently and properly to get rid of the dusty surface rust and grime without removing the patina, one might reveal about a $5,500 - 6,000.00 gun. She's dated 1864 and has sold wood, very good markings and good action. It lacks a cleaning rod.

1141 - 1863 SHARPS CIVIL WAR CARBINE.
This is a very nice and very crisp Sharps Carbine with patchbox. It shows a gray patina overall and is in fine shape to include very fine wood with inspector cartouches. It has never been abused and comes right out of an old collection where it was buried for years. A fresh gun to the market.

1132 - 1851 SHARPS CARBINE.
I won't tout this gun for its condition (which is actually above average for this model). I'll just say that it is a really smooth and unabused example of an 1851 Sharps carbine and they are very difficult to find in this condition. It has a few problems such as a missing sling-bar and a hole that was bored through its stock near the butt-plate. The hole was probably put there early on, as the earlier sling-bars were a bit frail and the hole sufficed as a location for a lanyard. It is plugged with putty or other filler and could be properly repaired by a gun wood restorer. Other than these two problems, this is at very least a very presentable example of a rare gun that someone might use to plug a hole in their Sharps Collection.

1129 - CIVIL WAR SNIPERS RIFLE. FAMOUS "BERDAN SHARPS" WITH DOUBLE-SET TRIGGERS.
This is one of possibly the most famous and sought-after longarms used during the Civil War. Hiram Berdan, for who the rifle is named, used his recognition and influence to persuade the Federal government to allow him to establish a regiment of Sharpshooters and specialized marksmen to act as "shock troops" similar to today's "special forces" such as the "Green Berets" and "Navy Seals". In June of 1861 the government agreed to Berdan’s request and the call went out for recruits, picking only those men that were of maximum soldierly qualities and especially expert marksmen. The rest is history, as the Berdan Sharpshooters went on to everlasting fame for their successful use of these fine rifles at Gettysburg and elsewhere. The double-set hair triggers, ease of loading and sturdy construction of these famed sniper rifles were instrumental in helping turn the tide of several battles while in the hands of the famed Regiments that were lucky enough to be equipped with them. This example is in fine condition for its extended use and shows all proper sub-inspector marks and cartouche. It is a super piece of Civil War history and a "MUST" for any serious Civil War collector that aspires to own the most historic and popular Civil War Arms. I have had this model in similar condition sell for 12 - 14k. We got this in trade towards our fine Hawken Rifle that sold last month, so the price is more reasonable than normal.

1126 - CONFEDERATE CIVIL WAR CARBINE. MORSE CARBINE MANUFACTURED FOR SOUTH CAROLINA & THE CONFEDERACY.
A really super condition Morse carbine with beautiful, untouched patina to the brass, smooth iron parts and about the finest Tiger-striped maple stock I've seen on one of these popular Confederate Carbines. This easy breech-loader was as popular with Confederate troops as it is today with collectors.

1118 - CIVIL WAR CAVALRY CARBINE, BELGIAN MADE AND DATED 1862. CONFEDERATE CARBINE.
This is an untouched, out-of-the-woods, Belgian-made, muzzle-loading Enfield type Carbine similar to those imported and used by Confederate and Union troops. Dated 1862 on the lock, it is really nice and quite possibly imported for the war effort. I don't know what the stampings are on the butt-plate but they certainly appear to be Militia or Regimental markings.

1079 - ANTIQUE HENRY RIFLE IN THE 9,000 SERIAL RANGE.
This is a very nice Henry and priced to sell. I doubt you'll find a better one cheaper. Starting from the front, the barrel is a smooth plum-brown patina with the slightest traces of actual blue in the magazine flutes and protected areas. I mean baby-butt smooth and untouched, a near perfect patina. The frame and butt-plate have a wonderful patina and show minimal dings and dents that one would expect from a gun that was used. The wood is beautiful and untouched, perfect fit and pronounced Henry "Bump". Action edges and markings are extremely fine. The brass follower and lever screw are old replacements, possibly of the period. This is a very good to fine condition Henry that other dealers would ask $30,000 or more for. We bought this in a group of items and have priced it with a reasonable mark-up as a group, not to try and squeeze the last dime out of each individual piece. You can find examples of that on other websites all over the net where the items never sell. I guess we're rebels, but, it works for us!

1024 - CIVIL WAR HENRY RIFLE WITH SHOULDER STRAP.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to invest in a better quality camera as I was unable to take a photo that could show exactly how nice this Henry is. It retains 50 - 60% untouched factory blue mixing with a deep, rich patina on the barrel. You can see the blue in the magazine channel, but blue is also scattered all about the remaining barrel flats as well. The edges and markings on the barrel are excellent as is the wood with pronounced Henry "Bump". This gun had been stored for years in the office of a machine shop and the frame had thick areas of dried out grease mixed with metal fines when I found it. I gently de-greased this to avoid scratching of the brass to reveal a fine, mustard colored patina. It does have a few scratches where someone attempted to remove the side-plates during its period of use, but not to detract from its excellent look. This is an outstanding Henry in the 8,000 serial range that is consecutive to a recorded martial and would probably fetch $50,000.00 or more at auction plus a buyers premium on top of that! This gun is available at a much more reasonable price right now. It's the best we've had in some time.

S1017 - HENRY RIFLE, FACTORY ENGRAVED.
In my experience, there is no other antique that continues to increase in value at consistently higher levels than the Henry Rifle. I have always struggled with the rapid price increases of these guns and seldom purchase one for re-sale, as I've often thought there must be a point where they will hit their peak in popularity and I might somehow be left holding-the-bag on several expensive rifles with no one to sell them to. The Henry Rifle continues to prove me wrong. (As it has been doing for over 25 years). Among both Civil War and Antique Arms collectors, the Henry seems to offer an endless promise of appreciation in popularity and value to those lucky few who own one. This one is factory engraved by Hogson and has many fine features. The barrel is extremely sharp and crisp in terms of its edges and markings and is in a light brown to dark grey patina. The white background in the photos make the steel barrel appear lighter in color than it actually is. The frame is gorgeous, showing generous amounts of original silver plating mixing with a beautifully untouched nutty brass patina. The engraving is of standard Hogson type. The wood on this gun has been heavily weathered and needs some TCL of some cleaning of old grease and grime and then maybe some hand-rubbing with oil to bring back the finish to the deluxe burl walnut stock. As the wood shows honest wear and is quite acceptable, I will leave any wood care up to the buyer. All-in-all, this is a very fine gun and priced way below what one may expect to pay at auction or a gun show.

1013 - CIVIL WAR TOWER ENFIELD RIFLE DATED 1862. IDENTIFIED.
This is an absolutely attic-mint Rifle with early, rare 40" barrel. It is untouched, right out of the woods from a family in Northern Georgie who had Kentucky lineage but did not know the identity of the name carved into the stock. The only C.H. Ash in service North or South in 1863 was Charles H. Ash of the Lexington Rifles who later became part of the 2nd Kentucky Cavalry. The Rifle shows very strong markings, edges and action with some original color on the barrel. The wood is also near excellent and the protected areas of the gun show old, built-up dirt, dust, dried out grease and spider webbing.

1007 - CIVIL WAR KERR SNIPERS RIFLE.
This is a beautiful and rare Kerr's Patent Rifle that is a cross between a Match and Military Match Rifle. Some of this type of Rifle are reported to have been used by Confederate troops during the war, but not with these special sights. This gun also has some extra engraving and other fine features that make it a very rare configuration to include a 38" barrel. This is a very are and collectible Civil War vintage Rifle that would be perfect for those that collect only the finest sniper rifles.

327 - SPENCER CARBINE. WITH COMPLETE, DOCUMENTED PROVENANCE AND ACCOMPANYING MATERIAL AND ARTIFACTS OF WILLIAM T. OTSTOT, COMPANY "I", 8TH OHIO CAVALRY.
I found this dandy group over the holiday weekend from a collector friend. This Spencer Repeating Carbine is in very good to fine condition and in the 33XXX range. It retains a nice, brown patina on the barrel and silvered out case on its frame. The wood is very good with 2 strong cartouches. This group was in an auction several years ago and the auction flyer accompanies the group along with a very detailed notarized letter of provenance. It is accompanied by the Atstot family bible, Atstot's original discharge papers, several cerificates and documents from the Bureau of Pensions to Otstot, numerous legal documents of Atstots, his fathers powder horn with the name "Atstot" carved on the plug, numerous rules, registers, and pamphlets of Otstot's GAR Post, an unfired Spencer cartridge, all of which are noted in the notarization document. All of his military records from the National Archives are also included. Otstot mustered into service on 10/9/61 into the 44th Ohio Infantry which later was designated the 8th Ohio Cavalry, and re-enlisted as a veteran on 1/5/64. He was discharged in July of '65. 279 - CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Euro-import.
Now this is a neat little item that can still be found at a gun show on occasion, but they don't talk to you like this one. These little Austrian made carbines are thought to have been imported by both the North and South during the great conflict. In any case, this one just wreaks of history. It is in smooth, deep rich patina and the action is still tight. The wood is also in great shape and it just talked to me when it walked through the door of the Hamburg Pennsylvania Antique Gun show a few weeks ago. It was found in an estate sale with 2 other muskets, an Enfield and a contact musket. I can't make any claims as to its origin or usage, but coming from South Central, Pa. from an estate, it could very likely be a Civil War Veteran.

This is an excellent Smith, with 95% blue on the barrel & 50 - 60% aged case colors on the frame, all mixing with untouched patina. It has inspection marks in the normal places including a 1/8th inch "B" stamped on the left side of the barrel and on the right wrist. A really classy looking Smith.

This fine carbine shows 70% original blue on the barrel mixing with brown patina and some slight roughness, and the frame shows about 20% case colors. The stock is fine with 2 very good cartouches. Scar1 - SPECTACULAR BILARTZ-HALL, RISING BREECH CONFEDERATE CARBINE.
Attic mint and totally untouched from a home in Virginia, this carbine has been out for only 3 weeks. It is only the 17th of its type to be found by collectors. The breech block is still frozen! B918-1 - EXCELLENT REMINGTON ZOUAVE RIFLE WITH BAYONET AND SCABBARD.
