4434 - CIVIL WAR MAYNARD CARBINE.
This is a very fine condition Maynard Carbine, one of the lightest and most popular of Civil War Carbines used by Cavalry Troopers during the Civil War. It retains 95% original blue to its barrel mixing with patina and 65% case colors to the frame. I believe a very gentle cleaning to the frame could raise that percentage to almost 90%. The wood is excellent showing near perfect cartouches and some staining and paint over-spray that I'll clean off before shipping. A nice gun at a very fair price.

4428 - CIVIL WAR RIFLE, ENFIELD CIVIL WAR RIFLE WITH POSSIBLE CONFEDERATE USAGE.
This Tower, 1862 marked Enfield is another gun 'out-of-the-attic. It has never been cleaned or touched in any way and shows dried grease and grime about its entire surface over a heavy brown patina. The gun is solid with a crisp action. It has the number "59" engraved on top of the butt-strap but no JS & Anchor marking. It does have a small "CH" stamped opposite the lock and the marking is absolutely period. I have no doubt that this is a mark used by Caleb Huse to identify a purchased arm. If you have information that might be helpful, feel free to send me an email on the subject.

4420 - MAYNARD CIVIL WAR CARBINE.
This is anpother very fine to excellent condition Maynard Carbine. It retains 95% original finish over all of its surfaces complimenting its very fine to excellent stock which sports 2 near perfect cartouches. Extremely minor nicks and dings and the gun shows very little use, just age. This is a very good opportunity for someone that doesn't want a flat mint un-issued gun at the high price but demands superior condition.

4414 - CIVIL WAR SHARPS CARBINE CONVERSION TO RIMFIRE.
This 1863 Sharps Carbine is perfect example of an "in-the-black" artifact. not in super condition. Completely untouched and new cleaned, rubbed or enhanced in any fashion what-so-ever since it's period of practical use. Deep, rich brown patina to the metal parts, good action and saddle wear to the wood. This is a truly untouched example of a Civil War Carbine that was issued and carried, probably in the Civil War, Indian Wars and possibly after. A great little gun.

4393 - ANTIQUE CIVIL WAR RIFLE BY J. HENRY & SON.
Civil War Rifles by J. Henry are relatively rare with a very small production of only 600 manufactured in 1861 and '62, most likely ordered by the State of Pennsylvania. This is a really nice, early gun with the reverse curve to the trigger guard similar to the P. S. Justice Rifle. It has 2 problems. It is missing the barrel bands. If you have 'em, I need 'em. Give me a call and let's talk about these bands.

Currently not for sale. ( Needs barrel bands)

4385 - CIVIL WAR RIFLE - MUSKET BY BRIDESBURG.
1861 Springfield Contract Musket made by Alfred Jenks & Son. Almost 100,000 of these Civil War Rifles were produced by the Bridesburg facility and were manufactured throughout the Civil War. This one is in generally good condition to include the action and markings, which are crispy. Price includes an original bayonet. I soaked this in kerosene for a few days to remove loads of dried grease and dirt and this gun is actually in very good condition.

4323 - HARPERS FERRY FLINTLOCK RIFLE, U.S. MARKED 1803 PATTERN WITH 1814 ISSUE DATE AND ALL INSPECTOR MARKS.
This 1803 Harpers Ferry Rifle is special. I don't know if you can see it in the photos, but this gun is in great condition. It has been arsenal converted to percussion and was unquestionably re-finished at the time and retains a beautiful 90% arsenal brown-lacquered finish. The wood is like new with perfect inspection marks and the lock markings are sharp. This is a very nice gun and I doubt you'll find its equal at under $2,000.00 as this gun is.

4294 - ANTIQUE HENRY RIFLE IN THE EARLY CIVIL WAR SERIAL RANGE.
This is an absolutely untouched Henry right out of a farmhouse in Burton, Ohio and it is very pretty. It had been in the same family since the late 1800's and probably earlier. This gun only has a few minor handling marks to its perch-bellied stock which retains all of its original finish. The frame is a deep and dark, nut-brown patina that shows minor nicks and some staining, probably due to powder residue that was never cleaned off. Its edges are still sharp. The barrel retains about 25% original blue mixing with deep, rich, plum-brown patina and the edges are sharp. Over-all, the gun is sharp and crisp to include all markings and the action. This gun has never been on the market before and is an early, perch-bellied gun in the 10XX range. It is untouched, never cleaned or enhanced in any way, shape or form. Straight out of a 3rd floor closet of an old farmhouse and in very, very fine condition.

4259 - CIVIL WAR MERRIL CARBINE, MARTIALLY MARKED.
This is a second type Merrill that is extremely crisp. All markings, edges and action are excellent as is the wood with a near perfect cartouche. This gun shows very little use and is way above average condition for this model. The gun is a medium grey patina and looks much lighter in the photos due to the bright light. It lacks the pull-button on the magazine but the spring is still with it. Just needs the button which could easily be fabricated by a competent gunsmith.

4247 - CIVIL WAR BURNSIDE CARBINE.
This is an over-all good condition carbine in gray patina. The wood is a little dry but would look much nicer with just a little oil and some hand rubbing. It shows a faint cartouche to the left side of the stock and the entire gun shows use, but no damage. The nipple is broken off (easily replaced) and the hammer will not hold its half or full cock. The bore is rusty but shows strong rifling. This is a good project gun for someone on a budget that has the time to convert this into a very good collector carbine used by Cavalry Troopers during the Civil War. And it can be done at this very good price.

4245 - CIVIL WAR SPRINGFIELD RIFLE MUSKET. "IN THE BLACK" AND IDENTIFIED.
This is a really neat gun that has come right out of the woods. It has the original issued soldiers name carved into the left side of the gun filled with old original period red paint. "E. F. Goff, 12th Me. Vols." Goff arrived late to the war in early 1865 and served with his unit for over a year. Many of the men had returned home after the expiration of their service on Nov. 19, 1864. The new recruits and reenlisted men (Goff included), augmented by unassigned infantry remained in the field to form a new regiment. The two and three years' men remained on duty, together with the battalion of veterans, at Savannah, Ga., until April 18, 1866, when the whole battalion was mustered out of service at that place. This Springfield was used and carried by Goff and was probably cast aside as the hammer froze, possibly during a skirmish late in the war. It was found the next spring on a family farm and stored for years in an attic, remaining absolutely untouched until shipped to us for sale from this website. Although this rifle probably saw limited use, it is extremely rare to find such a longarm with absolutely unquestionable identification such as this.

4113 - SPENCER CARBINE, MODEL 1860.
This is one of the better Spencer Carbines that you'll find anywhere today. It is super sharp and crisp to include all of its edges, action and markings. There is actually a good amount (maybe 15%) of original blue scattered across the barrel of this gun covered with a micro-frosting of very thin cleanable brown peach-fuzz, especially in protected areas (around the sights, edges, etc,). It shows a trace of vivid case-colr on the frame the the balance silvering out with a similar thin patina coating. the breach-block shows a ton of case. The wood is very fine with visable cartouche and some scattered scarring to the butt that could probably be addressed. this is a really great Spencer.

3425 - COLT REVOLVING RIFLE USED DURING THE CIVIL WAR PERIOD.
COLT REVOLVING RIFLE, This is a very fine condition gun in the 2,XXX range, of 56 caliber 5-shot cylinder. Many of these rifles in this range were issued to the 4th Michigan and 4th Missouri Cavalry units during the Civil War. It retains 90% blue on the barrel with traces on the frame and a crispy cylinder turned to a plumb-brown. The entire balance of the gun is in medium brown patina. The wood is excellent save for a missing sliver along the right front edge at the cleaning rod channel. The cleaning rod extension rarely found in the butt is absent. A really nice gun that is getting extremely difficult to find.

This gun appears to be from the group of second model Burnsides that were altered in different ways and sent to the government for trials. It has characteristics of both 2nd and 3rd models and is in very good, crisp condition throughout showing traces of blue on the barrel and genrous amounts of fir-blue on the frame. The wood is very fine.

3339 - CIVIL WAR SPENCER RIFLE IN DESIRABLE SERIAL NUMBER RANGE.
This old veteran was used hard and put up wet. It is in the early 5000 serial number range and was most likely issued to a member of the famed Wilder's Brigade, the specialty shock troops that we hear about on the history channel and that untold volumes of information is avalable on in both books and on the internet. Wilder's Brigade inflicted severe damage to Confederate troops throughout their service during the Civil War. This rifle shows heavy saddle wear, weathering, carry and use. The stock shows a varnish that was probably put on to preserve it by a family member. If you want a historical artifact from the Civil War that doesn't cost an arm or a leg, this could be your ticket. If you hurry to a phone.

3320 - CONFEDERATE S. C. ROBINSON RICHMOND CARBINE.
This rare Confederate longarm is one of the most popular Confederate Carbines. These were primarily issued to Cavalry Troopers of Jeb Stuart's Army of Northern Virginia Cavalry Regiments. This one is super sharp and crisp to include all action, edges and markings. The wood is nice and full and the barrel retains strong rifling. The serial number is in the 19XX range making it an early second model and the only other markings are the Richmond, Va. barrel address, standard for the second series of guns after the Confederate Government took over Robinson's factory operations. these guns saw heavy use and are seldom found in this condition. If you are looking for one great carbine to throw on the Confederate side of your gun room, this would be a perfect example.

S3261 - CIVIL WAR RIFLE - HISTORICALLY INSCRIBED AND PRESENTED SPRINGFIELD RIFLE.
Every so often, I find something particularly cool. This is one of those items, but I really don't know exactly its significance yet. This is a Model 1855 Springfield Rifle-musket dated 1859. The gun has been specially embellished with German-silver inlays about the fore-end and the lock, hammer and barrel are silver plated which is now turned blue! There is a huge, wonderfull coin-silver inlay inlayed into each side of the stock. One plaque is inscribed, "Prize Musket of the Jo Brown Guard, Reorganized May 1, 1872". The other is inscribed, "Presented to the Jo Brown Guards by Capt. Frank N. Hotchkiss". The date and presentation obviously refer to the Jo Brown Guard of Georgia that saw much service for the Confederacy during the Civil War. It was indeed re-organized in 1872 but there must be some more info out there somewhere concerning this rifle. I'd love to hear from anyone that may be able to shed some light on its presentation. If anyone wants to buy it in the meantime just give me a call. It's for sale at a reasonable price and I hope the undiscovered history of its presentation doubles its value for the buyer. I just need to move it.

3221 - CIVIL WAR CARBINE - CIVIL WAR STARR PERCUSSION CARBINE, MARTIALLY MARKED.
This is an out-of-the-attic Starr that is very solid and crisp. Markings and action really sharp. Wood has had some cleaning and I can't see a cartouche but the gun is sub-inspected. In the 20XXX range. Upper tang has been cleaned and looks perfect and in a light gray. The rest of the gun would also clean to very fine. Traces of blue on the barrel and traces of case-colors on the breech-block. The bore is filthy and crusty looking but would probably clean up.

1208 - CIVIL WAR RIFLE MUSKET. COLT 1861 SPECIAL MUSKET DATED 1862 WITH NEW JERSEY SURCHARGE.
This is a very fine example of the Colt Civil War rifled musket. Many of these guns found in fine condition are bought by collectors and then cleaned to reveal a real gem. This gun (with excellent wood) is just such an example that had a cleaning process begun, but never completed. The barrel and lock are in very fine, cleaned condition. It actually shows a little patina to the cleaned parts and one wouldn't know that it had ever undergone the process. The mounts however, show some sanding marks that needed to be reduced and then polished. The result will be a very fine condition gun that would approach $2,500.00 in value. If you are a handy person that likes to take on such projects, this is a steal. bands are inspected and the stock shows a bold, proper "NJ" opposite the lock. It was certainly issued to New Jersey troops during the Civil War.

1191 - CONFEDERATE CIVIL WAR SABRE BAYONET BY BOYLE & GAMBLE.
This is an out-of-the-woods find that came to us last week. It is as honest as the day is long. Beautiful, deep, rich patina with traces of verdigris. Untouched, with Roman Numeral VI stamped at the spring base. Lock-pin and spring are missing. The blade is average showing use and age but no severe pitting or loss to the metal. I have seen several similar examples at well over $2,000.
